It's finally here...
On September 29, 2017, Tilia Americana celebrates the release of its debut studio album, “Now What?” This energetic, bold, and genre-spanning collection of original music is difficult to put neatly in a box. While the lyrics address widely varied themes from the nature of the universe to the nature of human connection, and draw inspiration from literature, art, science, mathematics, folklore, and the natural world, make no mistake, this is no quiet, delicate indie-folk band. Their music is notable for creative and engaging musical arrangements influenced by folk, yes, but also by rock and roll, blues, r&B, country, indie/grunge, doo-wop, and other Americana styles. Deep, resonant, contralto vocals provide a refreshing take on modern female-fronted indie acts.
The album was produced by Taylor Sims (Spring Creek; Bonnie & the Clydes) and Mark Venezia (Wind Over the Earth; Solid State Rocket); recorded, engineered and mixed by Mark Venezia and Jesse Zimmerman at Wind Over The Earth studios in Longmont, Colorado; and mastered by Jim Wilson Mastering. It features the contributions of talented musicians from all over the Denver metro area and serves as a foundational example of the musicianship and artistic creativity that is earning Longmont a well-deserved reputation as the “songwriting factory of the Front Range.”
At the release party, Tilia Americana is joined by Flynn & the Electric Company and Francis and the Wolf.
